Winter Brecon Beacons

Blast from the East

Mother nature has just reminded us of what she can do. The Blast from the East arrived a few days ago along with the most amazing snow sculptures caused by the wind blasting through the hedgerows.

We normally expect bad weather in January and February so this much snow caught us all unexpectedly. We can dig ourselves out but it takes about 8 hours with just our shovels. The drive up through the fields certainly seems a lot longer under those circumstances. So March brough two lots of snow and two sets of guests to help in and out! It did not spoil their holidays just changed what they did.

Today after a few days cut off from the world the thaw has arrived along with some welcome sunshine. Oh and a very big digger who actually cleared the lane 2 minutes after I took the pictures! Hope you have all kept safe and warm.

Should you want to check out our weather before coming the Met Office does mountain weather.
