Hop In Brecon
You may wonder what can be behind a very small shop front as you walk up into town. Well it is home for one of the newer places to eat the Hop In Brecon. It was a tiny house 37 Watton, within a few minutes walk of the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh.
The new business opened in 2020 when as we all know things were far from normal. Despite this it has gone on to thrive and be one of the best if smallest places to try craft beers and gin and eat a wide range of small plate offerings. It was indeed a house and now the upstairs has dining rooms where there once was bedrooms.
First and foremost is the ever changing range of craft beers and gins from all over the world and as well as locally. All servered at the unusual bar area on the ground floor. They also have a wide range of lager, cider and soft drinks if you prefer. Be aware some of the beers are served in 1/3 pints as they come with quite a kick! You can always get a taxi back to Aberyscir Coach House.
The food is based on small sharing plates. They cater for all with many gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. They use as many local ingredients as possible. The dishes are influenced by many world wide styles so you will be spoilt for choice. Examples are Welsh cheddar panini. Vegetable Koftas, Lamb Cawl or Thai curry. It is always best to book a table as they are very popular. Give them a ring on 01874 622092 or use the online booking system.
